So, Did You Miss The Traffic Jams?

If you stayed in Jakarta for the Lebaran holidays and enjoyed the relatively empty streets… now you can rejoice again, because the familiar rhythm of Jakarta is back in full force, with buses never stopping or driving in the right place, motorcylces that seem to find the smallest of gaps and routes, and don’t forget the cheerful odor of carbon monoxide! Don’t forget the pushing and shoving at the bus stop – it only goes to show how much Jakartans love each other and cherish the return to civilized metropolitan life. For 2 weeks national TV networks were obsessed with the traffic outside of Jakarta in key areas (with small news pieces to show how empty Jakarta is), so now the radios can go back to their usual morning and afternoon shows relaying traffic info, and the TV news can go back to crimes and celebrities of Jakarta (sometimes combined).
